Icom 2820 - 28/10/2007

Is icom UK planning on doing the firmware upgrade for the icom 2820 that is on offer as a warranty repair for the 2820 in the USA. ( PTT and DV Faults )
A number of uk units have this PTT Fault, the DV Repeater fault on 70cms i dont know until a repeater comes online to try it.

The info is posted on the icom USA Forum.

Also is icom planning on doing anything about the "tinny sounding audio on FM mode on the 2820.

Looking at the last time this question was brought up (over a year ago), is it safe to assume this problem is now resolved and none of the current 2820's have any issues?

Hi John.
Well what can I say but Sorry.....for the delay in sending a reply.

Icom is aware of a problem with the PTT and are awaiting confirmation from Icom Japan on how to rectify this problem. We will keep you informed.
