Callsign abroad - 05/06/2015

What's the procedure with D Star registration when travelling abroad? Do I have to register such as F/G8YTC when going to France?

As newcomer to D-STAR I am happy to be proven wrong but this is my take on it. The callsign entered into your D-STAR radio is purely there as a unique identifier for your radio on the network, it is not there to meet the licensing conditions.

You should therefore leave the callsign setting in the radio alone and not reregister with a prefix/suffix. Then just adopt the appropriate callsign prefix/suffix and incorporate it in your voice qso as you would on any other qso.
